Why Movie Night?

OUR PROGRAMMING APPROACH

At Golden Age we only play films that resonate with us and we think will for you too. We don’t play every movie that’s released, each title is handpicked – which means your popcorn won’t be cold by the time you make your selection. It’s the same idea with our streaming platform, here you’ll find films that are entertaining, life-affirming, educational and hilarious. It’s like a film festival that exists online all year ‘round. Think of Golden Age as the femme fatale, the leading man, and the sassy best friend all in one.

Golden Age Cinema & Bar, Surry Hills

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

We opened our cinema and David Lynch-inspired bar in 2013, immediately casting a spell over the city with a fresh take on curating and socialising. Operating beneath the streets of Surry Hills, our award-winning independent cinema program is similarly underground, bringing together exclusive titles, special events, classics, cults, creepies and the best new releases of the year.
