Directed by Sean Baker (Tangerine), The Florida Project features a breakout performance from Brooklynn Prince who plays Moonee, a 6-year-old girl who lives with her young mum Halley (Bria Vinaite) in a motel managed by Bobby (Willem Dafoe) near Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Florida. Moonee’s free-flowing, unsupervised days are spent making escalating mischief with other motel kids Scooty and Dicky. When Halley turns to sex work to support her daughter, operating from her own motel room, tensions among the staff and residents begin to simmer. Gorgeously shot on 35mm, The Florida Project features incredible performances from its first-time actors, coupled with a brilliant Oscar-nominated supporting turn from Willem Dafoe.
