In a little village in Tuscany, struggling carpenter Geppetto (Benigni) decides to carve a boy puppet in an attempt to earn some extra money. To his joy and astonishment, the puppet (Ielapi) comes to life. Geppetto adopts him as a son, and names him Pinocchio. Pinocchio’s child-like curiosity leads him on a journey of discovery, encountering some out-of-this-world creatures along the way.
