“Tell me now about entanglement”

Jim Jarmusch’s 2013 crypto-vampire love story stars Tom Hiddleston as a reclusive vampire who’s at odds with the modern world. After centuries of influencing musicians and scientists, he now holes himself up outside of Detroit, recording and inventing while living off blood-bank donations. When his sulky depression gets to the point of suicide, his wife Eve (Swinton) returns from living in Tangier to console him. They’re soon joined by her little sister (Mia Wasikowska), who disrupts their new re-found happiness/blood bohemia. Praised as one of Jarmusch’s best films, Only Lovers Left Alive has all of the director’s trademark moody glamour and downtown ennui.

“A deliciously warm, witty spin on vampires and a rhapsodic love letter to art” — Total Film
