“Everything is exhausting past 40”

In the first film in acclaimed filmmaker Michael Winterbottom’s beloved series, Steve Coogan is commissioned by The Observer to review half a dozen restaurants. He decides to plan a trip around the North of England with his food-loving American girlfriend, but when she unexpectedly dumps him, Steve is left to fly solo. Reluctantly, he calls old friend Rob Brydon, the only person he can think of who will be available on short notice. Over the course of six meals at six different restaurants, the two sparring partners begin a never-ending series of riffs, and madly try to outdo one another with hilarious impressions of Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Al Pacino and more.
