In 2007, Chicago-based real estate agent, garage sale gleaner and co-director John Maloof stumbled across a box of undeveloped negatives of unknown origins at an auction house. The contents proved to be extraordinary – beautifully shot mid-century street photographs taken by Vivian Maier, an American woman who was a prolific photographer, a nanny, and a complete and utter mystery.
