“Your syntax is shit. And your penis is very, very small.”

A black comedy set almost entirely aboard a luxury yacht adrift in the Aegean Sea, on which sex men have decided to play a game called Chevalier before returning from their fishing trip. The game’s aim? To decide who’s the best – at everything – from sleeping, cleaning, assembling IKEA furniture, to penis size. As the hours tick by and points are given and lost, the men lose themselves entirely in the increasingly brutal competition. A big festival favourite, this ‘Greek Weird Wave’ film from Athina Rachel Tsangari (Attenberg, and frequent Yorgos Lanthimos collaborater) film was a Sydney Exclusive at Golden Age Cinema on its initial release.

★★★★ “Tsangari’s deadpan approach to the increasingly sociopathic behaviour of the sextet is perfectly judged.” — The Guardian
